Types of Headaches

When I get headaches, I pretty much just concentrate on surviving it. When I began researching about headaches, I was surprised to find out that there are types of headaches. Now, I know why there are so many natural headache remedies available. If there’s more than one kind of headache, then you’ll also need different types of treatments. There are basically two types of headaches: primary headaches and secondary headaches.

Primary Headaches
Primary headaches are headaches that affect your quality of life. Although they are not life-threatening, they can cause a lot of pain. Some may have occasional headaches, but others may have headaches that are so devastating that their daily activities are hampered. Primary headaches consist of migraines, tension headaches, and cluster headaches.

Secondary Headaches
Don’t let the “secondary” label fool you. Secondary headaches are more serious and severe than primary headaches. Secondary headaches may arise because of structural problems in the head or the neck. Secondary headaches might be caused by tumors, head injury, or a medical condition such as meningitis, dehydration, high blood pressure, or stroke.

Understanding the different kinds of headache will help you make informed decisions on which natural headache remedies you might want to try. If you feel like your headache is veering towards the secondary headache category, seek medical help immediately.

I take HeadacheFree every day to help prevent most headaches.
